This trip was to Roatan which is a small island off the coast of Honduras. During this trip, both Sheri and myself became certified open water scuba divers. We stayed at Paya Bay, a small resort on the Northeast side of the island. 
Paya Bay provided excellent personal instruction for our dive lessons. There was no better place in the world than Paya Bay for Sheri to learn scuba for the first time. The following video was made by Justin McGowan, our dive instructor.
Roatan
The ocean off Roatan is filled with a great variety of coral in the reefs and walls. This reef is in better shape than most because there has been less traffic and damage from humans.
I am fascinated by cultures and traditions. For example, in Roatan the biggest celebration of the year is Good Friday. Everyone heads to the beaches for three days of religious observance, loud music, partying, drinking and the eating of iguana. I guess this would be like combining New Years, July 4th and Easter all together.
